New Blower motor installed 700 1991

After many years of living with a 'chirpy" blower fan , I finally installed a new one obtained from FCPEuro. Mine is a two terminal one and not the single type even though the new unit (vdo #PM3787)came with instructions for a retrofit. The fan on the new one is an inch shorter and the blades are spaced out a tad wider. As I suspected the airflow is not as forceful as the original , nonetheless adequate for my needs. To install remove the lower kickboard that covers the ECU. Remove the ECU and its bracket. There are three 7mm screws holding the fan assembly in place. I suggest you remove the screw next to the firewall first then the others. Before you reinstall check that the fan works .
Regards
Paul

UPDATE:
I had to remove the new blower and reinstalled the old one. Here is the the problem. There is too much play in the motor shaft. Consequently when on less than smooth roads there is this annoying knocking sound. In fact if I hold the motor in one hand and knock this hand with the other hand I am able to duplicate the sound. Even shaking the motor along the plane of the shaft will duplicate the sound. I think a fix to this is probably a thicker washer at the base of the shaft where it sits prior to the sleeved bushing. At least in my old motor I can rid the chirping noise by selecting a higher fan speed. I am exploring other options. The original motor is made by Delco

I used the FAQs. Bought one from a chevy citation for around $18.

Thanks aleekat,
I looked at the faqs. I am capable of dismantling the old one and regreasing the old bearing or perhaps changing it. The problem is that I run the risk of messing up the fan since it is pressed on to a splined shaft unlike most of the after market ones which are held on with a washer and nut combo. I looked at couple parts site last night and saw the mid 80'S and 90's Chevy/gm types. Some with a single terminal ( mine is two, but I can adapt it). The mounts are varied . mine is the triangular type (91 and upwards , there was a change then )
Next week I will go to my local parts store to see what they have to offer and carry the old one to see if the single pole one would fit with minimal modifications. At present the old one still runs but with hirp.

If memory serves, when I first went in to buy one. The first one they showed me was a 2 pole, mine was a 1 pole. Instead of my ground wire being incorporated into a plug, it was just grounded to the housing mounting screw.

Update:
I did something , not quite the proper thing to do but the result is good. The base of the delco fan has a couple vent holes and I gently flowed a couple drops of engine oil into the base. I kept the fan upright till I mounted it. So far I am not hearing anymore chirps. I don't know how long this fix will last.

I got tired of whole mess (including not enough capacity for SE USA summers) and am putting a Classic Auto Air all electronic system in.
