Need Help with NGK Numbering Convention 1800 1973

Can anyone tell me the difference between NGK BP6ES and BP6HS? What do the "E" and "H" stand for? Thanks.

The E has a longer threaded length than the H. The E is correct for a B21/23/230, but will cause detonation in a B18/20 (if it doesn't actually hit the piston).

6 is the heat range -- higher numbers are cooler, lower are hotter. This is how much heat the plug dissipates, not how "hot" the spark is.

P means it has a projected tip -- the electrodes stick out further.

Not sure what the B or S means.

Thanks Phil. This is for the B20F in my 1800 which as you point out has a 1/2" thread depth. Upon further research I see the "H" plug has a 1/2" reach (makes sense "H" for "half") while the "E" has a 3/4" reach. Now if I can just find some locally.
