Changing directional switch 700 1992

Directional switch has gone flakey in my 1992 745. Simple change on my old 245, but seems more complicated on this model. The wagon is non-turbo, non-cruise control and non-tilt-wheel, Anybody do this or can you reference a knowledge base answer?

I assume your 1992 740 has an airbag. Instead of removing the steering wheel to access the screws holding the turn signal switch in place, I use short screwdriver bits and turn them with a 1/4" end wrench. Your car may use Torx head screws instead of #2 Phillips. The electrical connector plugs into the switch.

I think that happened to mine. It wasn't the switch. I fixed it by tightening the grounds inside the front fenders.
