Dead Battery and Electrical Anomalies 900 1997

The battery was dead this morning on my 1997 965. Jump started it and began a trip of 130 miles. After about 10 miles, the ABS warning light began to flicker, the radio and AC started going on and off and the tachometer needle jumped around. Engine ran fine however. After about 25 miles, no more electrical symptoms for the next 100 miles home. After sitting a couple of hours, the battery is dead again. Nothing appears to have been left on before either dead battery incident. Any ideas what might be going on?
John

Symptoms got worse over the next few days. Battery wouldn't keep a charge, all the warning lights on the dash would light up and stay on.

Replaced the alternator with one from Pick-n-Pull, and now every thing is working fine

Don't know if the 965 is similar to the 940 series in this respect. The 940's have been known to suffer from no charging and lit SRS lamp due to bad solder joints on the flex board for the instrument cluster.
