      Thank you for writing. Sorry for my pokey reply.

      My picture in the other post be a 165? I'm unsure. I did link an image of a Volvo (year?) 145 S (?) in light blue from www.catsandvolvos.com.

      Unless you mean another image in the article about the Volvo 240 with the V10 BMW?

      I've seen images of the nearly mythological 165 (164 front sheet metal works on the 145 body) and the Volvo 162 (164 front sheet metal works on the 142 body). I may have posted them here as img src = "" href links.

      The images in that Volvo 242 with BMW V10, do you mean? I did not look at them all. I'm on dial-up modumb, still.

      So, I dunno. I'll look around.

      I'll stick with the redblock in the Volvo, though. As heavy as the redblock engine is for the HP it produces.

      Still, though, one is enamored with the BMW OHC I-6. Doubt that would fit into a 240 engine bay. Maybe a BMW 5xx or 6xx series from the early 1990s? With manual transmission. Or a BMW 2002 ti?

      I may pass on VWs for good now, what with this dust up of emission fooling and such. And since the VW build quality has gone to crap since 2004, so I'd read and been told.

      And yet Volvo, what use to be the real people's car, worked so very hard through design and emissions controls in the 1960s, and even before that, to produce Volvo automobiles that were economical and low emissions.

      We all know the story of the early Lambda-Sond systems tests in Los Angeles on late 140s or an early 240. They had the early 02 sensor feedback loop, frequency valve, and three-way catalytic converter. The exhaust was cleaner at the tail pipe than the ambient atmosphere. Sometime in the early or mid 1970s. It was Volvo and Robert Bosch working together to help clean the air.

      In spite of the vagaries, Volvo remains probably a more honest automaker company than most, I'll guess, or hope.

      Time for Volvo to get their adverts right, certainly on how Volvo leads the way globally for clean-burning LEV cars with this VW dust-up, er, uh, dirtying up.

      One wonders how the VW diesel emissions controls would use up the blue ammonia reagent when not connected to OBD-2 port emission test at the smog station.

      Shame on you VW and Audi. Deplorable.

      A 1979 VW Sirocco with manual transmission was fun, though. With the K-Jet and the 02 sensor.

      Another model worthy of the Jay Leno of Volvo autos for the auto collection I so enjoy. While they sit and rot in the whether. Well, they'll pass the MO-state safety and any US-state emissions inspection handily.

      Volvo simply does emissions controls right on internal combustion engine cars. Well, the 1975 244 DL with metric B20 (I wish i had had the air pump to pump air into the exhaust manifold.) I had to replace that manifold at least once in the mid-1980s.

      Sorry to wander. The Ahmad Aromatic Earl Grey tea, with hunny and milk, has yet to take.

      Oh, my. So you can take this souped up AWD Amazon with BMW V-8 4.0 liter and Japanese AWD to climb Mount Denali or Everest or Mt. Tamalpias in Marin County, CA?

      620 HP at the rear so says the article. So, can any AWD system take such power?

      I think you'd want something like out of an older Jeep or Ford F-250 or F-350 with a transfer case (lo-hi), beefy Dayna diffs front and rear, and well-tended locking hubs up front.

      Amazing.

      The AWD systems seem not to take such power. Are all really finicky. Or can AWD systems take it if the design allows those AWD systems to do so.

      Even a posi-traction at the aft rear axle end of your 1978 Chevy Camaro with 350 cubic-inch and Rochester four jet can get away from you on all that power when on blacktop or concrete, wet or dry. Yet that was a long time ago. Probably the wrong tire set up?

      Set up, set-up, setup.

      Yet should I ever own a Volvo P130, I'll stick to the B18 B and M4 or M41, if they had these. I forget. Be nice to have that metric B20 from the 1975 244 DL, with M40. I'm please to travel the interstate uphill on a grade and be able to accelerate, much less keep to the posted speed limit, or as prima fascia conditions warrant.

      A Volvo 162, with B30 E, and restored M410 (swap a J-type in or rebuild the D-type) and modern engine control system. Heck, with your Dynakit, you could probably build a D-Jetronic control box. I'd like to go to a more modern fuel rail, versus them teeny short rubber high pressure fuel line sections between fuel rail and the injectors on the B30 E/F.

      In Navy Blue with dark grey cloth interior.

      I don't like leather interiors in cars, and I'm really disliking them alloy wheels. Just give me the steelies. I want to keep that hub hardware from rapidly rusting. All leather in cars just smells funny, if not gaggling rotting at times. Depends how they are tanned? Of that it is still an animal product.

      Okay for boots, gloves, and belts, I guess.

      I've decided to sell my 244 to make room for other projects. The car is a 1977 Volvo 244 with an LT1 conversion. I bought the car in Texas in 2009 as a project car, and finished the conversion and have logged just short of 20,000 miles on it since then. It has proven to be a reliable, fun and quick car capable of running low 13s at 105 mph in the 1/4 mile.

      The car needs nothing to be a regular daily driven car. The paint shines but is not perfect, it has been repainted at some point in its life and has its share of chips, dents and cracks. The car is located in St. Louis, MO. $6500, not interested in any trades. Details below:
