Fuse #6 Excess Draw 200 1984

My 1984 240 gradually losses battery power. Fuse #6 draws in excess of 50 ma. Also I notice a draw when I open up the trunk. My Bentley Bible shows that #6 fuse is connected to the interior light relay, brake lights and cruise control. My brake lights are fine and I see on issue with the interior lights. The cruise control is non-operable.

Does anyone have any input?

Fuse #6 Excess Draw 200 1984

Bentley Bible has a few mistakes in it. Fuse 6 does indeed power the brake lights and the cruise from battery hot, but fuse 8 is where the interior lights (and that pesky delay timer Onkel Udo speaks of) are fed. The usual culprit is the lock switch for the central locking, but that is a load on fuse 8, not 6. Next in the probability parade is the courtesy light delay thermal relay. Also on fuse 8.

Check the wires plugged on to the load side of fuse 6. Should only be the green/red for the brake light switch, and possibly the cruise with its own fuseholder. Maybe the Dana cruise box got water in it? Disconnect until only your brake lights work and see if your phantom 50 mils disappears with one of the wires.

Does it have a dome light delay relay? Not sure on your year but if it does, that is you problem.
