Stero wiring question... 200 1989

So I want to add speakers into my rear doors on my wagon. Does anyone know if Volvo pre-wired their cars to the point that the wires are already located in the pillar and all I would have to do is run it into the door from there?

All answers are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

If it was a factory 2 channel system, then they did not install the wiring to the rear doors.

If they did then there would be a 4 gang plug with the wires coiled next to it, after the 9 pin main radio plug.

      Thanks for the info.

I'm about to tear out the dash for some other maintenance, like replacing the blessed blower motor, so I thought I'd ask about it, thus gauging how much work I'm gonna have to put in to installing the rear speakers.

        /alternative mount for wagons

run the speaker wires under the edge of the carpet to the side pillar, inside the plastic cover for the front seat belts, up to the headliner, under the lip and back to the speaker.
