Window Motor 200

Is the passenger side window motors compatible front to rear? My front passenger side window will not move. Its started in the winter, intermittent functioning, seemed temp related. Far below freezing it would not work, if it warmed up (above freezing) it would work. It ceased to function completely in the spring. I've opened up the door panel, everything looks secure, so none of the mechanical things came loose causing a jamb. JY's are not much of an option as the nearest one that MIGHT have 1 volvo is about 2 hrs away. Not a gamble I want to take right now. I was wondering if i can just swap the motors front to rear.

Yes, I think the side window motors are interchangeable front to rear but not from one side to the other side.
This is because of the direction change from the inside panel attachment needed.

The regulators are different in each window due to the stroke difference of the glass.
I believe the motors run until they stop off the pinion gear in both cases.

Im sure it could be done with a dual direction design but one side of the problem was thought out already.

Not convenient enough to work well, so their made like us! Left and a Right handed models.

(:-)
Something just has to rotate to line up correctly.
You know, it's Like rubbing the left side of your nose with just the "thumb" of the right hand!
You needed fingers for a good action. That's More tooling.

(:-) Ever wish you had a third arm with a hand in your navel area? (:-)

Imagine the extra support tooling involved and how to store it out of the way of those other things? (:-)

Did you try removing, cleaning and replacing the window switch? Fixed the same issue on my 90 240's rear passenger window.

A little sandpaper and electrical cleaner might do the trick.
