Has anyone successfully repaired a heater box with rusted flappers (doors)? The one on my '68 looked good on the outside, but when I opened it up the flappers are in bad shape, rusted completely thru in several places. Looks to me like replacing the whole box will be the best solution. If anyone has an extra one in good condition, I'm interested. My heater core & fan motor are O.K.

    I may be able to help if you still need a heater box?
    However, I need to dig into my spares and see for myself it's condition. I believe it's useable but need to inspect it. Also, need to see what it weighs
    verses shipping cost?
    Where are you located?
    Not sure about it's price - value, but I am willing to deal as it's surplus to my needs.

        $50.00 + $25.00 for shipping.

        Do you need a gasket/seal kit for the heater box?

        It's also a good idea to install a new drain hose and it is not included with the gasket kit.

        Did you find the special funnel shaped insert that goes into the drain hose?

        That is important piece as without it, the drain hose will fall out easily and there is no good way to re-install it without splitting open the heater box.

          If you still have the 122 heater box, I'll mail you a check. Or if you'd be interested in a trade I can send you a pair of my "air filter conversion kits", which I make & sell on Ebay. If you're not familiar with them search on Ebay under "Volvo 544/122 air filter conversion kit". I have sold them all over the US, as well as Australia, S. Africa, Canada, Mexico, & several European countries. They will save you money at every filter change. Either way I'll need your mailing address. You can Email me at blangdon@gvtc.com for more info.
