Hi Pierso,
I imagine derek uk would be best here, unless we have folks from the UK and Europa that can answer here.
Else, you could try http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/ and other Volvo Auto enthusiast groups in Europa.
However, though it'd be swell if you post images of these headlight masks for 300 series. Though I sort of doubt they fit.
I do find, through google search, head light masks, also called Headlamp Beam Adaptors, are an issue for folks in the UK and certainly, like you, that will be in France. I'll guess it has to do with the right hand drive versus left hand drive, and how the headlamps are set up to project light in front of the UK spec Volvo 940. So you could probably blind oncoming traffic in France with your right hand drive Volvo. Is it a right hand drive Volvo?

These are beam deflectors that apply, using an adhesive, to the headlamp lens exterior.

Some folks use black tape?
Though I read when folks from the continent drive into the UK, the UK either does not have a law requiring those folks to do the same? I'd hope you UK folks would require the left hand driver from the continent use the same headlight masks of beam deflectors. Just as dangerous the other way for the UK folks.
And your headlamp lighting requirements do vary widely around there.
Hope you, your 1998 940 Turbo, with manual transmission, are all doing excellently!
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
B.
