Storing a good A/C Compressor---What is best method?

I pulled a B20 last week with a perfectly good Sankyo A/C compressor. It needs to sit for a bit before install. How can I preserve this piece to reuse in my 445? New units come w/ the caps, and maybe a special lube, but is there a process to save this great compressor?

Thanks, Kayo in Soggy FLA

Hi,

The best method would be just like how they came from the factory which is to fill in with refrigerant oil, screw rubber caps on the suction and discharge ports then pump the refrigerant in thru the rubber caps using needle adaptor.

Second best would be to plug the ports with clean cloth and store it at some cool and dry place, preferably inside a box. Already there's oil inside the compressor. Plug the ports to prevent dirt and moisture going in.

Regards,
Amarin.
