Blatant commercialism! 444-544

Hi Pete
We've seen no pics, but I have a feeling that a totally completed 544 would not be all that popular with most guys. I may be dead wrong and nobody has the time or expertise to build the car that they like. I wish you all the luck in selling it and for those that look for finished projects....there it is!! If we could see it.

All RWD Volvo Autos are mighty, yet coveted. The PV444-PV544 is Mighty like Odin!!! 444-544

I want one, too. I like the PV444-544 greatly. I miss the ohv redblock Volvo.

There's love in them RWD Volvo engines.

I had the last ohv reblock in a Volvo. The mighty 1975 Volvo 244 DL in maroon, with M40, with metric B20. Boy oh boy what you can do with that 1975 Volvo metric B20.

Yet I'm pleased as they are stock.

I hope you could please post some images, Pebee!

Thank you,

MacDuffy's Tavern.

1962 Volvo PV 544 for sale! 444-544

Hi Pete,

If you have time, you may want to post your 1962 Volvo PV 544 to:
- iPd free classifieds
- The Volvo Club of America (http://www.vcoa.org/)
- turbobricks.com and find the "Orphaned Volvos" thread.
- Maybe craigslist in some locales like yours, sfbay, nyc, and I dunno.

All posting is free and may require an account.

From this page:

We find:

Swedish Volvo PV Club (Svenska Volvo PV-klubben, Hägervägen 78, S-122 39 Enskede, SWEDEN)

You may find many folks in Europa and the UK that would want a U.S. spec PV, with or without mods, to buy from you outright.

And:

- www.pv544.org
- canadianvolvoclub.org
- www.volvoclubofbc.com

Hope that helps you!

Happy Sunday.

1962 Volvo PV 544 for sale! 444-544

hi kitty g- ive always been intrigued by this model if its the one im thinking of. isnt this the one somewhat common in the 60s, that looks like a '40 ford swayback or 2 door sedan/coupe? that model was highly sought after in the 50s and 60s. was in hs then and most of my fellow young punks of the era wanted either a 40 ford or a 55/56 chevrolet. both were disappearing like the 40 or superpriced like the 55/56. the volvo look alike was viable substitute. remember looking at 4 or 5 of them from all shot up to good condition. shysters were alive and well back then too. havent seen one rolling around in a long time except at shows. mostofthem had 4 cyl ohv engines with a 4speed trans. recallthey were quite easy to work on. bet a running example today would be at least 2k. 240s are a little bit easier tofind.regards oldduke ps- back in the war we had so many good tanks to pick from.

Happy Sundae oldduke,

Yeah, the 444-544, some may say, looks like a 3/4 sized Ford of about the same of a few years earlier. The run for the series was from teh end of WWII to the mid-1960s, replaced by the 110s, 120s, & 130s. (I very much like both these series. Volvo epitomized the people's car so much more than VW ever did or will. As for today .... well, no RWD Volvo auto.)

They had the early ohv redblocks with manual and I think some of the first autos in RWD Volvo.

I read Onkel's article on his want of a newer, sportier car. I keep thinking I'll go Toyota Camry or Subaru Forester. With manual transmission. No need to go fast for me. As I've never been married, yet like Volvos, and like Womankind. Maybe womankind is turned off by boxy but good? Well, no more boxy. I guess the Scion cars with the giant hamsters driving them you see on telly.

You can see images in these wikipedia articles.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_PV

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_PV444/544

While durable, they were not large, yet roomy, like a TARDIS, and so were quite light. The PV444/544 series did well in competition. (Now that Volvo no longer competes itself ....)

Back in the war? Do you mean Volvo auto? Tanks? Like real tanks or Volvos autos?

Thank you.

Happy Sundae!

kittys grey volvo 240 may not own a volvo sometime soon.
