This is how I spent my day.... 200

Hopefully this picture posts.

My 1989 245 met the rear end of a Ford F-150.

Well she is finally back together and on the road. Still a few things to do yet, but at least she is road worthy.

Here is a head on shot of her. No more damage.

Here is the drivers side fender. Very nice. Still needs the pin stripe.

Here is the passenger's side fender. Original.

pretty

time to put on some Historic Plates. 20 years old in MD. no trips to the Emissions guys. $51 for a 2 year Reg.

Looking like that, that wagon qualifies as a Show Car. no doubt

Looks very nice! Good job!

Looks like it could blend right in behind that motor home in the back ground too!

Don't get me started on the motor home. I hate that Damn thing! Starting to think the owner hates it too! LOL!

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Its been a long road, but well worth it.

Drove it yesterday for the very first time. Runs like a top!

Its now Wednesday evening and I've visited two PNPs in the area.

I now only need the black and chrome strip that goes along the front of the bumper and I'll have all the parts needed to put her back together.

Next week the son will start sanding the hood, fender, and front cross member in preparation for painting.

Not sure yet when that will happen, but at least it will be done.

I'll take some more pictures later this week as I continue to tear it down in preparation for building it up.

Talk to you all later,

Matt

Hey Matt, That sounds great. I too live in Maryland and have had difficulty finding local 240s to pick! (I can remember the days when they were so plentiful in the junk yards.) Where did you find your parts donors?

Normally I'll hit up the Crazy Ray's in Mt. Airy, but they have been few and far between in inventory.

I obtained these parts from the Jessup and Edgewood Crazy Ray locations.

The Jessup location was by shear luck as its vehicle inventory search feature has yet to work.

What are you looking for, maybe I saw it.

Matt

Oh, learn something new every day..I did not know that Crazy Ray's even had an inventory search feature.
I sourced a grill and manual window regulator already, but I would love to get a blue cloth passenger (less worn, to be used on my driver's side) seat skin. Did you happen to see one of those on your travels?
thanks in advance,

If my memory serves me correctly the car that I removed my left front fender from, the 1990 up in Edgewood had a blue interior.

check out this URL of the search feature.

Now remember that for some reason this vehicle search feature does not work for of LKQs sites.

Enjoy!

Matt

Sucktacular. Looks like the car was in nice shape, too.

I'm in Silver Spring. I don't think I have any of the parts that are clearly damaged, but if I can help in some way let me know.

Car is in great shape, and if I can find the parts I'll get it back on the road.

If I need help or a shoulder to cry on I'll let you know. Thanks for the offer, greatly appreciate it!

Sure thing, happy to help. It sucks when this type of thing happens, especially because book value for these cars is so low so it's hard to get 'em fixed right.

Oh, I do have a radiator if you need one. Used but only for a few thousand miles (the 244 I had put it in was rear-ended. :( Let me know if you can use it.

I've contacted him and does not have anything that I really need.

Going to hit my mechanic up this afternoon. He's very well connected with Volvo's so I might yet score. So far I'm batting a 1000!

Your lucky it was not the other way round. All the front parts are bolt on.
