Broken bow-tie horn ring 120-130

Good day all.
I am in a bit of trouble. My 1970 122S is in the process of being restored. I went this week to investigate because the person who is restoring her told me that there are a few parts that still need to be purchased to complete the restoration. To my horror, when I looked inside the car I saw that they had somehow managed to break the "bow-tie" horn rings off on both sides of the steering wheel. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?
Besides this setback, the process is nearing completion and she is looking really good.
I will attempt to load some pictures.
Greig

I'm guessing, since your working on a '70, that you're not in the states... Where are you?

I have a good used horn ring for that style of wheel.

I should have some good used interior door and window handles for a 1970, but someone could have put different handles on your car.

Can you take pictures of what you have and post them?

          Broken bow-tie horn ring 120-130

          Hello Eric.
Unfortunately the car is in Durban and I am in Middelburg. I just went to see the car on Monday afternoon - a 600 km trip either way, but slept over in Durban before driving back on Tuesday. The door handles I think are the standard type (chromed) and the window winders have chromed rotating knobs on them.
Let me know what you have and what you want for the door and window winders, including the bow-tie horn ring. Do you also have the bakelite backing spacers?
You can mail me at "greigdoveygd"at"yahoo"dot"co"dot"uk"
I am sure that you know to drop the inverted commas and substitute a period for the dot.

I think it was the '72 140 series that also used a bow tie horn ring. I don't know if they were identical but surely more plentiful than for the 120. -- Dave

My low rent solution to broken bowtie arms was take them off (after a few repair attempts). Horn push looks decent a just a rectangle with concave sides....not show worthy but workable solution for a hard working car.....if I had good bow tie I would try reinforcing where they connect to the rectangle, there is a groove there that can be filled with steel and JB weld.
