removing rocker shaft assembly B20

I need to pull the rocker arm assembly from a B20 in order to install new valve seals. Is it necessary to remove tension by slacking off all adjusters prior to loosening the rocker shaft bolts from the head? Or can I safely remove all the bolts without disturbing the current adjuster settings?
