removing rocker shaft assembly B20

I need to pull the rocker arm assembly from a B20 in order to install new valve seals. Is it necessary to remove tension by slacking off all adjusters prior to loosening the rocker shaft bolts from the head? Or can I safely remove all the bolts without disturbing the current adjuster settings?
Thanks!
JD

I think that your issues would arise when you tried to install the rocker shaft again.

Personally, I would set the engine with #1 at Top Dead Center and only back off the rockers that have tension on the valves - I would take notes on the ones that I backed off.

Remove the bolts evenly and you won't have any trouble.

On re-installation of the rocker shaft, make sure the ball ends of the adjusters are seated in the socket end of the push rods before tightening evenly.

You should check and adjust the valve lash after you re-install the shaft.

If you decide to pull the push rods, make sure the lifter isn't stuck to the bottom of the lifter as you can pull the lifters out of the bores if you aren't careful.
