'93 Driver Power Seat Issue 900

I replaced my driver seat for my '93 945 with a DS '93 944. The seat is complete from the donor seat except the switch cluster I used from the original seat.

Everything functions correctly except the forward/backward function. It moves forward without a problem, but when it's moved backwards, the switch needs to be hit consistently to get it to move a 1/4 inch at a time. I set up the #3 memory to have the seat all the way back, and has no problem sliding back from any seat position using the #3 memory.

Any suggestions? The original seat didn't have this problem, so I don't think the switch is the problem?

Paul

    Dear malloy1,

Hope you're well. The problem likely is in the seat computer. If you have the seat computer from the original seat, subtitute that for the seat computer in the replacement seat. I'll bet the problem "goes away".

If you no longer have the seat computer from the original seat, disconnect the in-place seat computer from the power supply. That may allow a re-set and clear the fault.

If that fails - and the problem persists - you likely need a replacement seat computer. I likely have a spare and will test, to be sure it works.

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook
