AMM/MAF 700

after doing some research, heres what i come up with. my MAF is a hollow hose with a little plastic unit protruding in from the outside. outside, it has a connector with 2 blades. the pictures i see on the internet dont look anything like that. they all show a connector port (on the sensor) with 6 or 8 horizontal pins, but my connector (on the wiring harness) has only 2. i have pictures but i guess i dont know how to upload them.

Hi Andy!: I also have a Regina and an LH system in two '91 740's. The Regina system I have heard has proven itself; also heard should replace the expensive fuel pump sooner than the others, and appears expensive as well. The square coil is affordable though. Lately I am having some miss-fire with my LH-system and even my volvo mechanic is having difficulty diagnosing the problem! Good luck to you!

Is your coil square or round? What year is your car? Is it a North American market car?

I ask because likely you do not have LH 2.2/2.4 fuel injection in your car so the common AMM we all talk about would not be what you have.

In the US/Canada I do not think they ran LH 3.1 in any 7-series but it is possible. Likely you have the Rex/Regina system...denoted by the big square coil. If you have Rex/Regina, you are looking at the air temp sensor. I think that and real TPS is all you have but I have never worked on that system.

So now go to the FAQ's here on the site and learn about your fuel system because I will be no help. that or post a different message with you issue/symptoms because there are a LOT of the these cars rolling around and a lot of folks on here that have owned them.

I personally avoid them because I already have one spare of everything for an LH2.4 car...very handy for troubleshooting...but not because it is an inferior system.

right, 1992 volvo 740, 4 cyl, 2.3L, it is a regina, and it is a north american market vehicle. i will also begin looking into the air temp sensor as you have mentioned. thanks.
