Dead Radio 900 1992

My radio died today. No sound, no display. I checked the fuses 5,14 and 26. They are all fine. Does the radio have another, internal fuse?

Update on my dead radio…
When I turn on the ignition key, I no longer hear the buzzing of the antenna motor. Antenna never extends.
Back when this radio worked, I could hear and see the antenna extend the moment I turned the ignition on,
even if the radio knob was turned off.
There is no sound of any kind coming from the radio. However, all the lights on the radio for knobs and buttons are on,
but the main display is dark. These lights are on even if the headlights are off.
ALL the fuses are fine.

Dear Robbie,

Hope you're well. On 1993 and later 940s, the radio amplifier is mounted just beneath the instrument cluster. I do not know if that is the mounting place for amplifiers in the 1992 model year.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook

The FAQ's has some information on radios. there may be a bit of help there.

There is a link to a pdf file that will sort out the wiring plug- have you checked for 12v being supplied to the radio?

Good luck,

No fuse on the radio itself. After 23 years, it may be time for an upgrade . Best option by far is Crutchfield for car audio.

Took the radio out. There was a blade fuse on the back. It was good.
I noticed the power antenna no longer comes out, and there is no noise associated with it. Where does the power for antenna come from?
p.s. Yes, I know I can get a new radio but I'm all about originality...wink...wink.
By the way, where is the radio amplifier on this car?
Thanks and God bless.

There could be a blade fuse in the rear side of the radio (been a while so I'm not sure.
