444 Lugnuts- to remove: all counter clockwise or ?????? 444-544

Are these early 444's like the old Chrysler with one side lugs clockwise and other side counter clockwise. Seems like there was something like that??? Thanks Kayo

    Thanks for the Responses.
A tire worker stripped 10 studs on my '57 back in high school days as different guys took 'em on and off. The boss was not happy about that, and they kept the Volvo for a few days to replace the lugs. Memory was fuzzy on details.
    Regards, Kayo

Or possibly marked with a 'v', I had a '56 444 - with 15" rims and left handed threads on the left side. They were marked but I can't remember with what

Very early 444/445 did get left hand thread lugs on the left side.

Usually there is a "L" stamped into the end of the left hand thread studs to let you know.

Just a thought, did this happen to revert to "normal" when they changed from 16" to 15" wheels?
