Wheels: 240=740? 200 1992

So, I have an opportunity to purchase some "lightly used" all-season skins to replace the horrible off-brand ones now on the 240 wagon. They're already mounted and balanced on a set of 740 alloy wheels. I know that the 740 wheels have the correct 5/108 bolt pattern, but is the offset OK so that they'll be a direct bolt-on replacement? That would be really nice. Anyone?

In a word yes its the offset that is key either 25mm or 20mm(stamped into centerhub of wheel). You will be going from 14s to 15s and nice ride improvement in dry conditions not so much in the snow and rain though. Thinner is better for snow and hydroplaneing Which alloys from the 740? They all have names. The early yr740s ones dont look so hot in my opinion.

Thanks, Joe. But, oddly enough, he's advertising the tire/wheel set up as 185/70R 14--meaning 14" wheels. He says they came off his 1986 740. The photo is of no value, so I guess I'll see what they are when I go look at them. Either way is fine with me, though.

Gee, Scoob....Looks like we have a mystery on our hands!

Maybe those early 740s were 14s? I tend to think of them as 90s cars forgot they made them in the 80s as well.
