Just curious if any of you know of a Volvo related website where I might obtain a build sheet of my particular car based upon VIN or chassis number?

I imagine the build sheet for a 50 year old swedish car is hard to find. What would this information be valuable for?

Oh well, at least it would take up part of your day researching it.
Who knows, you may discover that your PV was used for crashing test dummies for Volvo's safety program....and then put back together and sold to you.
Think of the possibilities!!

The product plate that is located underhood on the passenger side of the firewall is probably as close to a "build sheet" as you're going to find for your PV.

If you haven't already, spend a few minutes at each of the two following websites. Therein are located everything you need to break out the build info for your car, based on the number & letter codes on lines 1, 3, and 4 of that plate:

If you can get through to the Volvo archive, their performance hasn't been stella since Ulla Bergwall retired, you should be able to get a build date and where it was delivered to etc. Maybe even a photo copy of the entry in the factory day book when it was signed off. Ask nicely and give them all of the information you have. Chassis number colour year etc.

That is some great information. I sure wish they would scan the log books with some OCR software and post the information so they didn't have to look it up.

To the OP, make sure you get the correct VIN. For some reason the VIN stamped on the removable ID plates doesn't always match the VIN stamped into the sheet metal on the firewall. And when they don't match, I assume the number stamped directly on the body is the correct number.

On early 120, the VIN is stamped into the firewall in the area between the heater box and heater valve not far from the throttle linkage bracket.

On later 120, the VIN is stamped into body just above heater box on part of the air intake duct.
