Correct Instrument Cluster for 91 240 w/o ABS 200

The PO of my 91 240 Sedan said that she had the instrument cluster swapped, but couldn't recall why. The one in the dash is textured black and has an ABS lamp slot, but no bulb in it. The speedo and gauges work, but not sure about the indicator lamps. I also have a dash from a retired 88 240 sedan (obviously w/o ABS), but has no speedo. I have read the posts on instrument cluster interchangeability, but am not sure if I should swap for a non-ABS cluster or stay with what I have installed. Thanks...

The critical thing is that the speedo code number, the one below the trip meter should be correct for your car with regard to the gearbox and back axle ratio. There are several different numbers example K10042. If you post what your number is and your gearbox and axle combination, someone should be able to confirm a match or otherwise. I'm in the UK and numbers vary according to markets. My '92 SE Wagon is K39200 for example.

Since the speedo appears to be reading correctly and it appears all the other indicators are working, I plan to stay with the one that came with the car. The speedo number K10042.

Best I know there is only one correct cluster for 91 240s with and without ABS. Same cluster used for both because the prescaler for the 48-tooth rear axle tone ring is not in the gauge that year, but in the ABS works under the glove box. The light not being installed in yours smells of an "aftermarket modification." We have both types of 91 sedans, and your K10042 is the correct gauge identification. This information applies ONLY to 1991 240s.

Thanks for confirming that. I solved the oil pressure indicator problem-pulled it out just enough during oil change to break contact.
