We finally removed the existing steering rack. It seems that the car took a nastier shot than we originally thought. I am doubting that this would pass for an acceptable core. The main shaft is bent also, not just the tie rod.

They fixed it, I had my doubts that this would have been an acceptable core.
A-1 Cardone repaired for $170 shipping to them was about $35. We are quite happy.
