Rear Wagon Hatch Lock-Latch Mechanics 120-130

Has anyone found a decent source or site that shows in detail the components of or how the rear lock/latch mechanism works in a 220? Mine was broken when I got it and I'm wondering if there isn't something physically missing with it. Its in pieces at the moment for paint, but will be going back together soon enough.

The original green manuals are worthless.

Thanks.

Among other vintage Volvo products, Pete Burrows of Alphatech, sells a reproduced wagon latch with installation instructions:

Most Swedish (and German ) engineering is is usually comprehended by a a minute or two of staring at the mechanism and then being rewarded with the understanding of the simplicity and function of it, perhaps a piece is missing?

I have a wagon and I don't know which piece actually breaks. I think it's the plastic piece as I read somewhere about someone printing a repro part. Might even have been on here. Pictures of the bit that breaks would be good. Anyone?

Haven't found any diagrams, but vintageimportparts.com and of course VPauto have the pieces you'll need. In typical Amazon fashion, just bring money.

I need an exploded view of all original parts, which apparently was never made.

About ready to scrap the thing out and go buy something else.

For me, nothing appears in this post, but from Doppleganger's comment there should possibly be a drawing or instructions? What am I missing?

there is an exploded view of the rear hatch and tail gate. it comes from the volvo parts catalog, group 8b, page 37 or 37b.

if you'd like a copy sent to your email i'll be glad to forward it.

I have hard copies of the parts books, just wondered what Eric had posted that for me, didn't show up. Nothing in the post except 2 short dashes.

THANKS Eric. Never saw that one before but will archive it.

I did buy the (new) plastic parts - there is someone else besides Alphatech making all of them (upper hatch and the lower sides). Very well made. But the Alphatech instructions aren't very good (IMO).
