does ODB monitor intake vacuum? S90-V90 1998

While waiting to hear from the "ecometer" folks, I thought I'd see if you guys know whether the computer/obd system in a 98 S90 monitors intake vacuum?

The ecometer plugs into the obd port and is supposed to give real-time fuel economy readouts.

Thanks

I very much doubt that the OB system will monitor vacuum!!!

Well, I bought a Kiwi meter, which plugs into the OBD port and gives real-time fuel economy readings and more. Very nice unit.
So the vacuum issue is moot.

Most factory instantaneous fuel mileage readouts use a simple calculation based on injector dwell time and the road speed signal. Dead accurate. That's averaged for mpg over the tankful.

I've had two vehicles that provides mpg data on the dash and both were inaccurate. They were "optimistic" when compared to gallons used per mile driven.

One was a 2003 Audi Allroad and the other is a 2005 Chevy Silverado.

Yes, they had OE tires on them and I keep a log of fuel used and miles driven so I have plenty of data.

            Agreed.

I've tracked the car readout compared to actual fuel economy on a 1996 Dodge Caravan, a 2005 Nissan Altima, and my 2010 XC60. On the highway they are closer to the true reading but still high. In mixed urban driving they are solidly optimistic. Of course, the XC60 is the most accurate.... :-)
