Transmission wont shift into 2nd gear.

    Kind of vague - can you answer these questions? ... 700 1990

    Other than just saying that it won't go into 2nd gear ...

    Does it move in 1st? ... in reverse? Does it skip 2nd and go into 3rd and/or 4th (overdrive)?

    Is the shifter pulled all the way back? Maybe the bushing fell out and the shift linkage is dangling and is all the way to 1st, and you can't tell by the just the shift position?

    Have you looked at the transmission shift (a.k.a., kickdown) cable? Is it properly tensioned on its spool?

    And obviously, have you checked the fluid level? How high is it (noting the temperature scales), and what color is the fluid?

    Theses little clarifications can help us help you.
