Can I borrow your correct drum puller? 444-544

Would anyone be willing to loan me their drum puller, for a '59 Duett. I'll pay all shipping costs, both ways & a small rental fee if necessary.
Thanks.
Jim

I`m glad to see you came up with one. I actually have three of the heavy duty style three leg pullers. I am willing to sell one of them for 55 dollars plus shipping to who ever needs one in the future. Larry

All three are like the one in the picture sent by JohnMC in the previous post. Larry

Use only the correct tool as a drum puller with arms will break the drum. I couldn't believe how tight the tapered machined fit is. Just when things start to look like the tool won't get any tighter, "POP" goes the drum off the axle.

Regarding what Nahtanha wrote -- "Just when things start to look like the tool won't get any tighter, "POP" goes the drum off the axle."
Be careful not to stand in front of the tool/drum when there's heavy tension on the tool. When it "pops" it can shoot the drum across the shop floor. Sometimes the drum just seems like it will not come--but left tight overnight you may hear a crash from the garage as it lets go hours later. If the tool allows it leave the axle nut on a few turns. -- Dave

Hello,

I can rent you one of our heavy duty drum pullers. We fabricate our own drum puller as the original Volvo tool did not hold up to our abuse in the long run.

The rental fee is $20.00.

I would charge you $140.00, the out right purchase price plus shipping.

I will return $120.00 when the tool is returned in good condition.

Email me at the address below if you are interested.

Where are you? Any tool rental shop would have one for a small rental fee, or Autozone for free (with deposit)

Just be sure to get the heavy duty guy that pulls from the lug nuts.
