trichard,

1990 245

Thanks for posting you water pump replacement method, I followed it to the letter, especially the part about cleaning the surfaces. When I removed the water pump, it was a mess. The previous installer used some sort of sealant and the gasket came off in pieces, more left on the block than the pump . I even chucked a brush from a gun cleaning kit to get to those hard to reach places. I did this on Sunday, with no leaks seen. I also changed the radiator (metal tanks) at the same time. Distilled water and Zerex for the fill.

Thanks again
Fred

Hi joekidd,

I got my radiator from these folks:

http://www.csfimports.com/home.asp

Go to their ecatalog mine was pn 999. However, there is a caveat, that once supplies are depleted this model will be discontinued.

Good Luck,
Fred

Here is the link to trichards method that I for got to add to the original post:

CSF used to make a 3 Row radiator that IPD sold thru its catalog. I bought 2 of them ...one from IPD and another directly from CFS...15 years ago.

the 999 and the 888 are basically the same but only 2 Rows.

if you don't have a newer 240 with a sensor plugged in the radiator the 888 is just fine. Either one fits 240s back to 1975.
