Lots of manufacturers marinized GM engine blocks .... 200

The only genuine Volvo engine that I ever heard of being marinized was the old pushrod Six, the B30 from the ~ early 1970's 164 series.

But lots of manufacturers (Volvo, Mercruiser, and GM, for example) sell the same marinized versions of the GM large and small block V8s as well as its V6.

I think your engine is essentially the same as a Mercruiser V6 that I had a few years back.

I'm pretty sure the B18/20 was also marinized -- I have an intake manifold made to mount two small single throat downdraft carbs -- available if anyone can use it -- and recall seeing a clamboat with a B18 mounted many years ago. -- Dave

Yes, the AQ series of Volvo stuff, at least in the B18 and B20 guise, were indeed Volvo blocks.

It's a Chevy more than likely. Get the horsepower rating from the flame arrestor ( air filter ) and the displacement from the tag on the valve cover. That's if it is a Penta engine. I've never heard of a PRV used in marine or seen one.

I don't think I'd want to go to sea with a B27F or B28F. I think Peetz is correct, it's a marinized Chevy V6 with Volvo badging. They did it on Chevy V8s as well.
