Dana 30 Limited Slip parts 120-130

I have come up with a Dana 30 limited slip rear end from a Canadian 123gt. It's the 10-spline unit, not the 27 spline unit. Looking in the end of it, the crosses are broken in it.

Does anyone know of a source for parts for these? Are the crosses in the 10 spline the same as the 27 spline. I would guess so but I don't know...

Thanks
Chris

The cross is the weak point ofcourse. Volvo has/had a part number for the improved version.

Is there a reason you have to use old technology? Does the modern Gleason/Torsen style LSD not fit?

The splines for the original axles have coarse splines and AFAIK all other Dana 30 use fine spline axles, so the side gears inside the posi have to made different.

And all old Volvo rear axles with drum brakes require a centering pin and that is why the crossshafts have a hole in their centers.

Why does the 67 to 68 140's have the cetering pin too?

Because the early version of the 140 rear end still used tapered axle bearings.

Maybe an old-timer at Currie Enterprises could help out. 714.646.6311

I'm not good with difs but I know if I was looking for Dana parts i would start with the 4X4 community jeeps etc used Dana and would be worth trying....also racing community.....never found Volvo people very helpful with dif info as basically the difs last well unless really abused....

Hello Chris,

SAM in Sweden makes a copy of the crossshafts and I feel reasonably priced, but theirs don't have the holes for the centering pin assembly which is necessary for a drum brake rear end.

Do you have the centering pin assembly?

I have a NOS set of the original Power-Lok crossshafts for a Dana/Spicer 30 with rear drum brakes and I might be able to find a good used set.

FYI, just about all of the internals are different for the 27 Power-Lok. The only thing I can think of that is the same is the clutch pack.

I found clutch rebuild pack from IH Scout guys. Front end unit.
I have part numbers here somewhere.

Still need centering pin.
