Smelling gas now and again around rear passenger side. 200 1988

Turns out the topside of the clamp that holds the hose from the tank to the main pump was gone so basically no clamping action.Undercoating was getting soften by fuel I assume when the car was running as there was never any puddling going on under the car. 190k kept outside for the past 12 yrs.

Might have been a worm gear clamp as it slithered off somewhere? (:-) probably behind a can of beverage on the bench! (:-)

I didn't smell fuel. Just happened to notice the leak when I was under the car on another errand.
