on a 93 wagon unless it is broken there is a button on the shifter :::::cover::::: which when depressed bypasses the shift lock. it is designed specifically to manually bypass the shift lock should it malfucntion

do not confuse this with the button on the shifter itself.

No, im nor talking about that contraption. Im talking about the switch on the right side of the shifter that prevents one from starting in a gear other than Park

In a manual transmission a blue wire shorts the blu/yel wire to the pink wire. So do the same with the automatic to bypass the switch.

Follow the switch wires back to the plug with the blu/yel and pink wires. I think it is behind the drivers right leg panel.
