Dash bulb warning light on but no bulbs out..? 700

Dash bulb warning light on but no bulbs out..?

I recently installed a new bulb housing behind the left taillight assembly as the original was not making a good earth on the reverse tail light. Works fine - but a day or so later I notice the dash bulb warning light on but no bulbs out..?

I checked all my front and rear lights and they work.

I do notice when I turn the my lights from ON to parked there is a click coming from the fuse box - not sure if that is connected to the bulb warning light being on..?

Any ideas?

Maybe just I should remove the housing at the rear and check the bulbs are all making good contact..?

Dean

I have noticed with the new light bulbs, include Sylvania Headlights, that you must replace in pairs, otherwise the bulb out indicator will stay lit.

If you put new bulbs in the left and not the right side that could be the problem. The bulb out relay does not actually know if there is a burnt out bulb. It measures resistance between both sides of the car. When it exceeds the predetermined valve, the bulb out light illuminates. Clean up the contacts, bulbs and bulb holders and see what happens.

Same thing has happened to me. I replace a brake light and now the bulb failure light sometimes comes on. I need to clean and grease the bulb's contacts; that should take care of it.

Grounds 700

Your grounds/connections may have slipped and are not equal resistance on both side.

Check/clean them.
