Auto Insurane

I had some kid who couldn't drive a BMW take out my mail box and bump the front of my 1990 245. Damage to Volvo:
Bumper cover
Left turn signal assembly
trim above bumper.

never mind my:
freshly rebuilt trans
fully poly bushings F+R
IPD sway bars
HD Rear springs
etc...

and yes, the body is kinda rough. The plan was to finish the drive train rebuild this spring then come fall get the whole body painted. My worthless insurance company wants to total the vehicle.
Who is your guys favorite insurance company? Someone that isn't hell bent on totaling your cars at the slightest scratch? (they pulled the same stunt on my '82 wagon (I fixed for $100) and my 86 Porsche.)

Thanks!

Andrew

    Auto Insurane

I suggest going to google with this string: auto insurance for collector vehicles

Not because the 240 is a collector, but because it is old and still worth a lot to you. The hard part is then for you to determine what the value should be.

"Normal" insurance for a daily driver is never enough. Most companies will value the repair with new OE parts, and there are no more OE parts for your car unless they send off to Europe.

Perhaps you could strike a deal with the current company. You get the parts from a JY, send them a copy of the bill and they pay you back. Of course, the labor would have to be negotiated...
