90 240 low pressure power steering hose replacement type 200 1990

Hello, I'm looking for a suitable replacement for the suction/intake hose from power steering reservoir to pump. It's the thicker of the two hoses, I believe other thinner hose goes to steering rack. What's the inner diameter and a correct SAE type hose? Any experience with auto parts cut by the foot hoses, good or bad? Thanks!

Here's One Source and Hose Specs 200 1990

I recently replaced this hose on my 1985 245. The part below is listed as compatible for your 1990 240.

O'Reilly Auto Parts

$12.99

MasterPro® Power Steering Hose - Power Steering Hose
Part Number: 71207

UPC: 21597812074
•3-1/2 Foot Bulk Length
•5/8" ID
•Cut To Length, 15 Inch

The hose was marked: Gates 10RL A 5/8 Inch 200 PST

I used only 15", there was more than enough left over for another Volvo.

Cut by the foot is all your going to find. Make sure its reinforced and oil resistant. Looking to replace mine again as they have become very hard again with age.

Visit a truck parts specialty store. They'll have the correct hose and also should be able to make hoses that require metal ends. -- Dave
