Chocolate milk in flame trap 200 1984

Found this in my flame trap extension plumbing. The oil dipstick is clean, though, and prior oil changes don't show the brown stuff. That rubber adapter was cracked open; I'm hoping that moisture got inside through the crack and that there is no bigger problem.

That's because it's been so cold...take off the oil filler cap and you'll prob see the same stuff. Normal. for abnormally cold temps

No chocolate milk on oil filler cap.

It has been very cold up here. Got down to -17 a few weeks ago.

after I posted that I remembered that I found it on the filler cap on my 80 with a B21, which has the crankcase venting set up coming off the valve cover, and my old 75 with a B20, which had the venting coming thru the top of the filler cap.

with the B230 Breather Box venting that's where the foamy stuff would get pulled.

It's just condensation. Just change the oil when winter's cold is done.

Could simply be condensation from the cold weather we've been having. It seems a little unusual that it's in the flame trap. On my 240 and 850 it has shown up on the dipstick occasionally during the winter.

Do you drive the car short distances most of the time? If so, your engine may not be getting hot enough to burn off the condensation. One long high speed should cure that.
