Sorry. I'm confused, then.
I was under the impression the D-Jetronic on the B30 E in the 164 e opened three injectors at a time in a two by three array. Three injectors squirt, then the other three, and so on.
It's been a long time I looked at the Green Volvo and blue Haynes (when Haynes was better) 164 manuals as they are packed away and I've given up hope I'd be ever own one. I'd hoped to. With M410, of course. Moon roof optional.
So, than, the Bosch L-Jetronic is not sequential, meaning the an injector opens on intake stroke, more of less, only for a cylinder?
Maybe I use the word sequential wrong. Port injection? I mean to say, as before, the system opens the injector at the cylinder on intake stroke, and closes as or before the intake valve closes.
The D-Jetronic seems not to yield the best fuel economy; better than carb. Not that the 164 is that economical to run. Yet to install a modern engine control system may yield improved performance and economy.
I'll take a wikipedia and other wiki sojourn for my edification, then.
Still, through, a 1972, well, any year, 164, with M410.
Thanks,
MacDuff
