Shift lock is Trashed - need a new assembly 200 1993

If anyone has a plastic shift-lock assembly they would like to sell, please let me know. Mine has broken into several pieces. The solenoid still functions but as of now it is rolling around under the shifter console. It is worrisome because you can shift front or back without pushing the button.

Thanks,
Susie

I'm also (still) in the market for shift assembly including cover (with functional shift lock)for 1993 Volvo 240. Willing to consider earlier shifters (also including cover!)

Shift lock is Trashed - need a new assembly - my Wagon has been Repaired! 200 1993

Bought a used shift assembly off of eBay. Instead of replacing my whole shifter, I removed the gray plastic gear selector from the purchased assembly and installed on my shifter in place orf the black shiftlock piece. It was a bit fiddly to do since there is such little access to remove and reinstall the two screws that attach the selector. Also had to remove a very small pin from the foot at the bottom of the shifter shaft, put the gray gear selector in place and then reinstall foot and pin before putting in the two screws. Not easy but my car is proof that you can swap a gear selector from an older automatic and put it on a 93 in place of the brittle shiftlock selector.

On my son's 93 we went to Picknplull and got a whole shifter from a pre-shift lock car and replace the whole thing. Well worth it.

As you may know already, this part is not easy to pull at a yard, and specific to the 1993 model, so I could guess you won't get many offers. Assuming it is #7 in this drawing? Tried a dealer?

Try Tasca Volvo parts. OEM new for cheaper than the stealership.

As you are in Philly (cheese steak!), UPS Ground is like next day from Tasca.

The stealership is useful for part information. Sort of like the online parts stores like iPd and FCP Groton.

Could I swap out the shifter for an earlier model without shiftlock?

"Could I swap out the shifter for an earlier model without shiftlock? "

Makes sense to me, but I do not know from personal experience.

I've had good luck with 2part 2ton epoxy. Any chance you can glue it back together? You can get the 5 min cure stuff, just don't rush it. Wallyworld carries it

Unfortunately I no longer have the pieces and I do mean pieces. Several of them. I never thought of epoxying it back together. Could probably have reinforced in areas with fiberglass cloth. Dang.

The plastic shift selector parts are so marginalized to start with, gluing them back together is not a dependable solution. A couple of years ago when I had a shatter shift selector, I ended up rolling my own. See:
