The lens in the front and back of my '64 544 all need to be replaced.

I just dug into one of the front ones, and the rubber is so hard it was impossible to reinstall the old lens and chrome trim piece.

Looking online, it appears there are several different lens-types available, with a wide variety of price ranges as well.

For the front, I'm curious what you think about the difference between clear and amber lens. Which combo (between clear lens with amber lights VS. Amber lens with clear lights) is brighter?

Any thoughts on "split" rear lenses that are amber on the top and red on the bottom?

And finally, what is your favorite source for lens? (I need the rubber for the fronts as well.)

I have in stock 3 types of front lenses for your 544, clear original Volvo, clear reproduction and amber/yellow/orange reproduction lenses.

The reproduction lenses are slightly different in shape from the originals so not for a concourse restoration.

Clear lenses will be brighter as they allow more light to shine through.

Personal taste applies to the rear lenses. FYI, both the all red and 2 color rear lenses are reproductions of the European style lens which are not the same as the US rear lenses. The US lenses are basically flat, while the European lenses are stepped with a lower half that sticks out. I have the reproduction all red lenses in stock. In case you did not know, you will have to reuse the chrome bezels as the reproduction lenses do not come with them.

We also have the rubber and new backing plates(bulb holder) with wires for the front lights in stock.
