windlace replacement 120-130

Can windlace around doors on 66 2 door be removed and replaced without removing/damaging headliner and pulling kick panels?

Tricks or tips please.

Thank you

My 67 220 windlace was in pieces. I just pulled it all off and using a very large screwdriver, pushed the new one in - NO glue. The only hard part was by the dash. Headliner stays put.

To do it correctly, not really. Some time ago I did manage to reinstall some windlace on my 122 that had come loose over one door opening. I pushed it in with a flat nylon tool after putting a bit of weatherstripping glue on it, the yellow stuff. It came out OK but didn't look exactly right. I would have had photos but the interior has since been redone. Maybe a hot shot upholstery guy can help you.

Thanks for the voice of experience. As I thought. My headliner is original and nice, but wouldn't survive removal. Original wind lace is tattered, new in hand.

Don't mind pulling pillar cover, sill plate and kick panels...it's the headliner I dread. I'll try right door first.

      Thanks.
