1800 dash/gauges into a 122? Anyone try it? 120-130

Thoughts?

I've been investigating the options out there for updating/replacing my non-functioning instruments.

Looking at what's out there, and thinking about fabricating and mounting,
I thought:
The early 1800 dash is beautiful, I wonder if it could be made to fit into an Amazon???

Has anyone tried this?

I imagine, a big positive would be that since it's all the same era Volvo parts, a lot of the "making-it-work" issues would not be present.

If anyone's done it, please post pics!

best,
-alex

There was an article on the IPD web site, maybe in their picture gallery or customer's cars, about a kid who married a 122 and 1800 dash together as part of a restoration/rebuild of his 122 2 door. There's asome good photos of it and it loks pretty nice. It might help you visually

That IPD car is my car, the fit to morph the 2 dashes was easy.
I kept mine very simple to have a race appeal.
I have some pictures of the fab work, shoot me your email and Ill send you what I did. Bone.

It can be done. I saw a 122 in California a few years ago with an 1800 dash fitted. It looked great and, according to the owner, was a relatively easy fit. The guy has a web site with photos but I can't find it just now. Will post back if I run across it.
