86 240 bad head gasket 200 1986

This wasn't a big surprise since I found zero compression on cylinders 1 and 2. I'm thinking about using a large plastic storage container filled with water and simple green, and soaking the head overnight.

The nice thing is I now have easier access to replace the heater hoses.

Take a look:

Thanks!

don't bother. clean both block and head well, run a known good straight edge on the head surface for flatness if you have doubts send it out for resurfacing.

the job it quite simple on a 240 red block.

do it right and it will be the last time you ever have to on that car.
