This is my first post, so please accept my apologies if I have posted this in the wrong area/section.

I just recently acquired from my mother a 1984 Volvo 240 GL Wagon. She was the second owner, purchasing it in 1998 with approximately 89K. It currently has 139K
.
Yesterday, my son adjusted the passenger seat, reclining it a bit (we are tall) and the round adjusting knob just shattered.

I have looked online trying to source a replacement (to no avail).

I am wondering if anyone here knows a source for one or may have one from a parts car.

    Also, take care with the details. There are two styles:





    You need different tools to remove them as well.

    A company called SEM makes a spray paint of professional quality in "camel" color, which is a near-perfect match for much of the Volvo tan interior plastic. Just keep that in mind while you seek a replacement.

    Best place will be a junk yard. Lots of year groups will fit. Don't look just for tan. Most auto part stores sell spray paint for fabric/plastic trim. Stuff does work pretty good on interior trim. I'm sure you can find a close match.

      Aleecat: What other year groups are compatible with the 1984 240 GL (for the seat reclining knob?

        Really don't know what exchanges. But if you have a volvo dealership close by. I would wander into the parts counter, most of those folks are pretty helpful and could probably look it up and see what swaps. If nothing close, guess yellow pages for the closest to call.
