The "one wire" Delco is a bit of misnomer. What you want is a 3 wire delco. A big red wire that bolts to the back of the alternator and goes direct to battery, and a plug in that will have a small red wire, and a small white wire.
The small red wire from that jumps directly to the big red wire on the back of the alternator, and the small white wire simply goes to your amp light (green out of your voltage regulator)... I think that's how it goes anyhow. Effectively making it a two wire Delco.
There are one-wire Delco alternators, and if you get one of them, you'll lose your amp light without some other manner of wiring.
Your push button start switch (not push button ignition, as ignition is still with the key) will have no affect on the amp light.
Volt meter.. eh.. you can just wire that into any circuit that live when the ignition is on. Perhaps as easy as the cigarette lighter.
The Delcos are not direct bolt up. You will need a bracket (preferred) or modify the alternator (this can ruin your option of using it as a core, should it fail).
You also need to get one with the little plug in the right place... some have the plug where the engine block would be, or too close to the exhaust such that the wires get burned.
