Still cant remove CPS!!! 700 1990

I have never had an issue quite like this with a car, I still cannot remove the CPS. I have drilled it heated it, super cooled it, inserted a screw and attached a ratchet strap to the roof and applied tension. This is really really mind boggling and it is in such a tight space im not sure what I should be using,

Thanks,

Please tell me you are joking? Ratchet strap?? You will break the CPS bracket and then you are really screwed. You want less material in the CPS not more, remove the screw. Keep removing "material". What are you using to drill/ream?

Need something like one of these to carefully remove material.

Though if you get carried away...you will route out the diameter of the hole in bracket!

Sounds like time for a Dremel extension and a vacuum cleaner to suck up the bits.

No not joking about the strap, did not break but didn't work either, so basically I just have to chip away at the part? I have a flexible extension on my cordless drill but I have already broken one bit inside of it. Seriously I have been working on cars forever and this is the biggest b**** I have encountered .

It does sound quite vexing. If you have a leaking rear main seal maybe kill two birds with one stone and drop the tranny? Sorry to be of so little help, we dont see many such CPS removal horror stories here.

There have been a few of these horror stories, and I've seen pictures to prove what a swollen mess rust makes of the central core of the sensor when water continues to follow the wires into it. Having had the opportunity to dig into one of these (literally) about all I can add here is stay clear of the exact center when drilling or routing -- that's the hard steel magnetized core, about 3/16" in diameter. Try to drill out around it, keeping clearance to the fragile bracket. If big chunks manage to fall down the hole, I'd suggest pulling the brace down below and cleaning them out.

If you think a 700 is tight there, take a look sometime at a 91+ 240 next time you're around one.
