544 AM/FM radio 444-544 1963

I've read through some of the prior posts but I'm sure everyone is realizing how hard it is to find a working and affordable radio for the 544. I've found some AM radios on eBay but have yet to find an affordable AM/FM one.

a) I'm aware of the models (Blaupunkt, Motorola, Grundig and Philips) but are there specific AM/FM models I can look out for that would fit the small space?
b) Are there general measurements I can keep in the back of my mind that I could ask a seller to check or manually measure myself?
c) What is a reasonable price for a working AM/FM radio these days?
d) The shot in the dark: Anybody interested in selling me one? HA!

If you are looking for a retro styled modern radio, check this place out: http://www.retrosoundusa.com/

Certainly not an old radio, it's digital, but it is styled to fit in with an old car.

I have their Retrosound Zuma in my 444. Nobody at the recent Swedish Car Day in Boston knew it was an aftermarket radio until I told them.

These retrofit radios are definitely an option. I suspect there would be a way to cleverly hide some modern electronic bits too. I'd prefer just an original radio but these look promising.

I was trying to find something for my 444 before going this route as well. I scoured ebay for a long while with measurements in mind, but in the end the cost of those units more than outweighed their performance...if they worked at all.

The Retrosound units sound nice and are cake to install to do an almost infinitely adjustable knob system. They also have hidden plugs for USB and Aux line ine, which you can run through the glove box behind the dash and no one will know.

Another option is having the internal guts of your stock radio ripped out and replaced with modern hardware. There was a place I found online that did it (forgot the name) but it was very expensive and had a long lead time.
