getting ready to remove the old exterior window squegees and reapply the new, any tricks of the trade I should know before getting started?

Just want to echo what Irollturbo said about cutting it too short. I did that too on one of mine. I then purposely cut them all a little longer and that seemed to work. I also repainted them with flat black rattle can paint before installing the new rubber. I laid the metal on a towel and used a large punch and hammer to recrimp the rubber in the metal strip.

I did this on my '90 using the IPD kit. I used the plastic "bone" tool to remove the trim. Be careful with your paint if you have paint that you care about. I had no trouble, but the car doesn't have an award winning paint job either. With the trim removed I used a screwdriver to loosen the grip of the trim on the rubber on one end. Most importantly be careful not to cut, stab, or otherwise maim yourself in the process. Also be careful not to cut the new rubber too short. I did this on one and had to order a replacement. All in all not too bad - it can definitely be an after dinner sort of job.
