Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of getting my headliner installed on the '58 444.  I have the material already cut and sewn from the original pattern, and have taken it to an upholstery shop here in Norfolk called Will's.  The owner says he's installed these before but it's been a while.  He asked if there were any pictures available for how the headliner attaches to the rear section around the rear window and I thought of asking the group.  Someone once told me that there might have been a wire or something to wrap it around the window but I cannot tell from the parts manual.  If anyone has any thoughts on how the headliner attaches back there, or would be willing to send me some pictures, I would be REALLY grateful.

    Hello again. Well, I had some extra time this week so I took a stab at the headliner. It turned out pretty good! I used the information from Cameron. It seems that the upholsterer who recreated my headliner from my original did a good job after all. He added some type of heavy foam-like pullcord in the rearmost channel (in the headliner), which seemed springy enough to tie together around the rear window. I made a few aluminum clips at the rear (in the trunk) to tie both ends of this foam cord together and it was taught enough! I'm in the process of uploading some recent pictures to the website, and will send a link in another message.
