go directly to VPAutoparts.com or Swedish Treasures (probably the best price on Bilsteins for the PV cars, or at least the best chance of getting them in less than 6 months o_0)

Here's a direct link to the VPAutoparts front axle components: (be prepared to pay for Bilstein)

http://212.247.61.152/us/main.aspx?page=article&artno=1002080101

again, VP has a US office in NC, so there will be no excessive shipping charges from Europe.

I actually don't see them listed on Swedish Treasure's website right now.

There's also KGTrimning: http://kgtrimning.com/bilPV.htm

Converting the SKR prices to USD, it's within a buck of the VP price. However, that includes a 25% Swedish VAT, which is waived on shipments sent outside the EU.

would you have an email for them? When I try to email using the email tag it tells me that my email is not set up correctly and doesn't show me the address.

They've got two email addresses on their website:
mail@kgtrimning.com
kgtrimning@bredband.net

I've dealt with them in the past via email, they know English. I also hear if you call them they can converse in English as well.

They have a *very* interesting catalog with a LOT of very, very neat performance parts for old Volvo's, plus a lot of discussion about building performance engines. Unfortunately, it's in Swedish. So you sort of have to learn how to decipher Swedish to read it. Still very interesting even if you only look at the pictures.

I linked straight into their PV Bilstein page, their website might not work correctly in that mode. If you go to www.kgtrimning.com directly you'll get the whole enchilada.

Well, actually, the paper catalog seems to have a LOT of stuff in it that isn't on the Swedish version of the website. And the Swedish version of the website seems to have a lot of stuff on it that isn't on the English version.

I am not surprised. Almost 20 years ago a customer came in with a hole in a piston which led to a semi restoration. One thing he asked to be checked were his recently installed shocks which turned out to be Monroes. When I removed them they were obviously new, but were wasted. When the mechanic had changed the rear shocks, he neglected to transfer the special washer/sleeve that is supposed to be installed in the lower shock bushing before being installed. We had purchased a donor 544 to replace his doors because the track for the door seals on both doors were badly rusted. So I pulled the rear shocks to get the washer/sleeves. The shocks I removed were the original shocks. I knew they were original because they had undercoating on them that got there when Volvo sprayed the under side of the car. These shocks were over 30 years old and they were still in working condition.

Bilsteins are available for a 444/544, but they have to be imported and they are expensive. A full set of Bilsteins will cost almost $600.00.

FYI, the stock oil shocks that Volvo sells, work quite well for spirited driving and are less than half the cost of the Bilsteins and will last a lot longer than the Monroes.
